2026 SEASON INFORMATION
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.
The Upper Merion Swim Team is a member of the Schuylkill Valley Aquatic League (SVAL). The league is run by volunteers and consists of 3 other volunteer-run swim teams besides ourselves: Glenhardie, Picket Post, and Whitpain Greens.
- All Upper Merion Swim Team members must be paid members of the Township pool. Please sign up for a pool membership early, as the memberships fill up fast. Our incredible partners at the township pool have created a special Stingrays practice/event pool membership for any swimmer that registered for the Stingrays after general public pool memberships were capped. Reach out to the board or coaching staff for more information.
- New swimmers MUST be able to safely swim (unassisted) 25 yards. Strokes do not have to be perfect - swimmers will be taught proper stroke technique throughout the season. If a swimmer is unable to complete 1 lap (25 yards) of the pool unassisted, coaches will recommend the swimmer enroll in the UM Swim Lesson Program through the township.
- Swimming assessments will be scheduled in mid May to gauge individual skill level and to ensure all swimmers can complete one length of the pool (25 yards) unassisted.
- There are a total of 6 Dual Meets (boys and girls swim events) that take place on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings beginning in mid June and continue through July.
- Following the regular season, there are 2 Championship Meets that include all teams. These take place in late July. Entries for Individual Champs are limited to 240 entries per team. In order to be eligible for Championships, the swimmer must attend at least 2 of the scheduled dual meets.
Practices will begin in May and finish in late July. We can't wait to get the season started and have a ton of fun this year! Go Stingrays!
